The GPS device is not detected by the application |
|
|
If the application permanently shows "searching GPS device" in the upper left corner or permanently shows "Waiting for coordinates" at the bottom line, the settings for your GPS device are not made correctly.
Please click on "Start->Settings->External GPS" to configure the GPS for Windows Mobile (even if you have an internal GPS device).
- At the first tab "Programs", select any port, except the port the GPS device is actually connected to. You can also select "(None)".
-
At the second tab "Hardware", select the actual port your GPS device is connected to. If you have an internal GPS device the port varies depending on the device you have. It may even be "(None)". Please contact your device manufacture for this data or try one port after another. The "Baud rate" depends on the capabilities of your GPS device. If you don't know the exact value, try 4800. A false value (a too great value) results in the application showing that it found the device, but will not be able to receive any data from it.
-
At the last tab "Access", check the box "Manage GPS automatically".
If all the above data is entered correctly, GpsSpot will find your GPS device and will be capable of receiving data from it.
